When Animals Attack! (Part 2)

I promise I won't continue to write only about my neighborhood sojourns with Max. But in the meantime, we were at the same point in our walk as when the biker-dachshunds charged us last night and there were three cattens (too old to be kittens, too young to be just "cats"). Max got a little hyper when we neared them, and the black catten arched its back and hissed at us. Excuse me? We passed without retaliation, though, because me and Max are better than that.

Then the wild part ...

We were nearing the final stretch of our trek when I saw an animal in the distance in the shadows. It looked like another cat, but I smelled something that told me otherwise. Then I saw its bushy black tail that had a swoosh of white ... it was a Nike Skunk! No, wait ... it was TWO Nike Skunks! They appeared to be on a "date" or something ("Just did it!"), which is hard to imagine because if I ever smelled like that on a date I would be lonely and single to this day. We made a hasty jigjag to our walk and took the long way home like a couple of Supertramps. Thankfully, we both smelled like roses (as much as we could, that is) when we entered the house. Crisis averted!

I just hope we don't come across any lions, tigers or bears tomorrow night. Lock up your elephants, people! I'm getting the leash.

One more thing ... I was flipping the channels this evening to avoid the late news (hardly ever anything good on there) and came across something disturbing yet hard to turn away from. It was paid programming on one of the Spanish-language channels for a local car dealer. Along with trotting out his entire used-car catalog, there were also young, hot, beautiful busty (and braless!) women showing off their wares while he described each car. Kind of made me wonder exactly what it is they're trying to sell.

"an animal in the distance in the shadows."

Jeff Corwin has nothing on you.

Well….there I was driving around Cyberville and I decided to stop by Cowtown Pattie’s place and check out the beautiful sunset when I noticed the “T-Bone” signature on a comment and just had to put on a big smile. I immediately wondered if I had accidentally stumbled across George Costanza of Seinfeld fame. If you are a Seinfeld fan you will understand. If not – I will try to let you know if I run across that particular episode where he decides he would like that nickname – that being “T-Bone” of course.

Okay….now to the business at hand. Got to love some of those neighbors. I love a couple of mine so much…..well, never mind. I was looking for somewhere to bitch to a few months ago and ran across a great site. Here is the link ( http://www.neighborsfromhell.com/ ). The site, Neighbors From Hell, is really a great place to relieve stress and at times get good advice from those who suffer from similar problems. They do all that through their forum ( http://www.neighborsfromhell.com/phpBB/index.php ).

Catch you later….T-Bone! :)

Oh....and a Happy 4th to you and your family!
