One more day of work and I'm turkeybound. Haven't been up to see my wife's family in so long, some of them actually miss me. It's nice to be missed. It's even better when people will be offering up their secret family recipes to your tummy. Makes the journey all that much better, doesn't it?
I leave you with one more Thanksgiving thought ...
And you thought turkeys were just for dinner. What all the well-heeled female hunters will be wearing this fall ... Turkey Coats. Because birds of a feather sometimes perish together. Please note that I have no idea who this lady is, but she is awfully happy to have bagged her bird. I hear they also sell turkeys in supermarkets now. Go figure.

From what I've learned from the redneck side of my family (my whole family), wild turkeys are quite the prize because they are almost impossible to kill. So no wonder she looks so happy. Of course, their imperviability makes them unfit to eat.

that picture would make my husband so happy. He loves to turkey hunt, although he has only managed to kill 4 in 13 or so years of hunting them. Wild turkeys have keen eyesight and are difficult to kill, but that hasn't stopped my hubby from spending probably thousands of dollars on turkey calls, clothing and guns. All I can say is hey it gets him out of the house, out of my hair, and he's in the woods not in a bar shooting pool or drinking or other such passtimes.
