The spider in the loofah

| | Comments (10)

That's how my morning started friends, although I call it a "man sponge" rather than a loofah. The day probably won't get a whole lot better because I feel bad.

When I used to read a lot of blogs, it became obvious that many of us are frail sickies who are allergic to everything, can't hold our liquor or don't get enough sleep. Rather than simply whimpering about how I feel like crap on a cracker, I will share a list of just how bad the woe-of-me is:

• I have used my body weight in Kleenex® in just three days.
• I'm getting used to the taste of Day-Quil®.
• The makers of Claritin®, Flonase® and Allegra® want me to be their poster boy to illustrate the dangers of skipping your allergy meds for a few days.
• Outdoorsy and active me sat on the couch and did jack squat despite the nice and sunny weather.
• I had to say "hello" to my running shoes so they wouldn't feel ignored.
• I throw things at the TV when the weatherman gives the "air quality" report.
• I feel the need to complete a living will.
• The Centers For Disease Control have asked me to encase myself in a bubble until I start feeling better.
• Passers-by cover their mouths and cross the street when they see me coming. From a mile away.
• People don't know whether I'm sneezing or coughing or both.
• Stuffy foghead is the new lucidity.
• I'm banned in three countries.
• Orange juice is the new water.
• Soup is the new ham sandwich.
• I'm a weapon of massive loogies.
• This list is already too long.

I get sick two or three times a year, and it's rather predictable. The "season" is changing from mild to milder, and the wind's been gusting for days. But that doesn't help when I ("boo hoo") feel a little less than myself. I guess when you are blessed with feeling good most of the time, the tough times hit hard.

Hey, is that a Kleenex box in your pocket or are you just here to taunt me??

Has the oak pollen gotten you, too? It's bad down here in San Antonio. Bad BAD. Really bad.

Gezundtheit. I finally broke down and went to see an allergist who quickly determined that I'm allergic to just about everything. I have to buy my family sized boxes of Kleenex at Costco and realized recently that my husband has purchased several new trashcans and placed them strategically around the house in places where there are usually small hills of wadded tissues. I feel your pain.

OY...My kids both go thru this during the first part of Spring...YES, NOW...so my house right now is a symphony of coughing and sneezing!

It's just SO much FUN! Luckily, allergy medicine works pretty well for the boy...but, the girl seems to have ultra-resistant allergies and most medications don't seem to help much!

So, we sit..and PRAY for the relief of Summer...Yes, I am PRAYING for the weather to HEAT UP...What is WRONG with me!?

Why won't this site remember my personal info? I click yes, and it just ignores me, darnit. Happens at some and not at others.

Sorry ... that was a tangent. I think I have had some form of cold off and on for the entire winter. I need more vitamins.

I totally feel your pain. I thought I should get a sterile bubble for my head. It would cost me $105/mo. for me to take all the allergy meds my doctors want me to take - with minimal relief, mind you. It seems that when the weather has major changes, that's the worst for me. My spouse doesn't ask me if I have a sinus headache anymore. He just asks how BAD it is today. :P

Allergies blow. Take care, and hopefully the fog will lift soon enough.

Hahahaha, weapon of mass loogies. I love it!

Forgot to add that:
• I just coughed up something the size of a Honda.
• My voice sounds like a cross between Darth Vader and Kermit the Frog.
