Sometimes happiness is home in your rearview mirror. That's a bliss we'll be taking a bite of this weekend for a trip to San Antonio. We're taking the Cutlet to meet Shamu and his dolphin buddies at Sea World. Then we'll hit the River Walk, buy a bunch of junque from the Mercado, eat our fill of Hill Country cuisine and do whatever we can fit in between Saturday evening and Tuesday morning. I normally have Mondays off, and I'm taking off Tuesday – my first workday off in more than a year. The Petite Filet's taking the whole week off (lucky).

Here's a list of what I'm packing:
• A relaxed attitude
• My film camera (at least some vacation photos should be on film, after all)
• A stack of CDs (don't have an iPod yet)
• A good book
• Summer clothes (forecast calls for low 80s, partly sunny, slight chance of rain)
• With a forecast in the 80s, does that mean the Petite Filet should wear leg warmers?
• Sunscreen (this T-bone doesn't want to be overcooked; neither does the Cutlet or PF)
• The heavy-duty stroller, because our 2-year-old is too heavy to carry when he wears out.
• Cell phone (turned off).
• Expectations for a slight perspective adjustment and renewal.
What's doing with you this weekend?

Hopefully, chillin like a villian. Or maybe doing something fun with the fam.
It sounds like a wonderful trip. I've been there (a while back) and found it a wonderful place for a vacation.
Have fun.
We're going to a museum on Sunday. And that's kind of like a "mini-vacation"

I love visiting...but, I HATE the drive!
late getting around to read but we spent the weekend at the ballpark at Craig Ranch in McKinney and hung out around the house. A trip to San Antonio is always great. We havn't been to sea world since our third son was born. I think this summer it's time for a return trip.
Drove to Comanche and parts thereabouts and longed for a simpler life. Have a great time!
Back to back tball/softball practices, laundry, and then collapsed onto the bed for a nap. But good for you and San Antone, I hear that's nice too. ANything beats double practice in a day. ANYTHING.
San Antonio is one of my favorite cities ever! I was there last February. I know I'm ringing in late, but looks like you guys had fun!
