Applesauce

Or as the Cutlet likes to say, "App-bowl sooce." He hasn't quite mastered the words, but he does love to eat it. Same goes for anyone who enjoys a bit of foy grass or kaysoh dillahs. Food can be mispronounced and still taste pretty good.

I happen to be wearing a bit of app-bowl sooce on my sleeve. The Cutlet wanted some this morning before he went to childcare and I went to work. Fortunately, he was still in his PJs. Unfortunately, I was not. One more evening/morning of flying solo, and the Petite Filet will return for her trip. I know for sure it was harder on her than it was on me.

All in all, here's a few reasons it will be a good week for sure:

• The sun is shining and it will once again (for the third day in a row) be unseasonably warm in north Texas. Then it will drop back down to reality tomorrow, with clouds, in time for the PF to come back.

• A new season of Survivor begins this week. I am not ashamed to watch that show: camping, a beach, competition, arguing, a million bucks and bikinis. What's not to like?

• Lots of work to keep me busy this week. I hate to be bored.

• I'm able to supress the itch for a new vehicle because we can't afford the one I want. Jalopy Joe saw his shadow (or maybe it was Deep-Debt Dave), so that means at least six more months of the Family Truckster.

• I forgot my lunch, and I'm hungry. But there's a ton of places to eat, and this will be a good excuse to venture out. Maybe eat on a patio. But cheaply, of course.

• Valentine's Day was yesterday, and though my sweetie is a few hours away, it's nice to still be in love after nearly six years of marriage.

• The trees in my back yard need trimming, so I will soon get to pull out all my cool tree-trimming equipment and go to town. Pole saw, chain saw, oh yeah! And, uh, safety. Safety is always first.

What's up with you?

- We are throwing a 70th bday party for my grandaddy this weekend. (I'll be happy to not have to think about all the details any more).
- Several of my pottery pieces will be fired and glazed this week!

Isn't it stupid to add that the weather is great? What is there to hate with a nice temperate 67 degrees?

I haven't watched Survivor in a few seasons, but I have to say I'm pretty excited about the new one. They don't get any help or some such business? Sounds eenteresting.

And, the new season of Amazing Race starts in a couple of weeks! ROCK.
