The Hello Project, 2.0

So I mentioned how much a post from this woman was a good idea. Now I'm going to borrow the idea and plunk it down here. It's sort of a roll call, who's reading and stopping by. This blog has gone through a few cycles and not as many people are out there, and I'm curious about who is without having to do some techno stuff and checking the traffic here.

So here's what you do:
Please comment leaving your name, where you're from and if you like where you live. You may also talk about your plans for the future, whatever else, or ask me a question, etc.

My example:
My name is Texas T-bone and I live in Fort Worth, Texas. The area is nice enough, if not becoming overcrowded, but my wife and I have built a life here that fits us well for now. My goal is to learn how to build small wooden boats, move to a beautiful lake or protected cove along the coast and build them, sell them at high prices to eager tourists, paint pictures of them and sell those, and work on my tan. Hey, T-bone, what is the matter with you?

Give it a whirl, won't you?

My name is Big K and I live in Sunny Southern California. I've been lurking for a month or so on your blog and decided to comment. I have just began my own blog a few weeks ago. It's not the greatest, but hey, it's the beginning. My husband is the web guru not me.

I have a wonderful 2 1/2 year old son, who actually got into his big boy bed the same day yours did. I almost posted but I was "Shy". I am a stay at home mom and just recently went back to school to get my degree. I live a whirlwind life and I'm always on the go, but I'm happy and have fun.

How's that for ya T-bone?

Big K

Hey T-bone! I'm Hip Momma. I stay in Allen, Texas. I'm liking it. Quiet, alot of the area is new, and the people are nice (unless we're driving on 75 and that's just a whole nother story). I also like strawberry preserves & peanut butter sandwiches! ;)

Got 2 chitlins who I adore no matter how crazy they make me!

Been lurking since, well, you started your blog. I'm just not much of a commentor.

T-bone, how do you like them apples? :P

I'm Dell, and I live in Plano, TX. I like where I live... close to all sorts of places to shop and eat. But I miss NY a lot and being around a lot of my friends and family. Oh, and I adore my Yorkie Kasey! :)

Hi, I'm Busy Mom. ("Hi, Busy Mom"), this feels kinda like an AA meeting. Anyway, I'm in Nashville, TN. I like it here, been here most of my life. I'm a nurse and I like pina coladas and getting caught in the rain. Wait, that's not what you're asking for...I have a husband and 3 kids and well, we stay pretty "busy".

I'm Leah, but not really. Originally from Salt Lake City, land of the holy and bless-ed, I now live in Berkeley, California, land of the naked and insane, with my three-year-old cat, Eve (who is also naked and insane). I have the best job in the universe editing books and I love cereal and granola bars and cookies and cake and ice cream from other people's cones. I also really like iTunes, the slideshow screensaver on my laptop, and taking roadtrips. I am recently un-engaged and my hobby as of late is finding love in all the wrong places.

Hi, my name is Becca. I'm 44, married for the third time. Ihave 3 sons, ages 25, 22 and 18 months. I live in Central California and I hate it there. It's way too hot for me. I was born in El Paso, Texas and live in the South West until I was 14 when my Dad decided to pick up the whole family and move us to Oregon. I lived in The Willamette Valley until 2 years ago. I want to go back to Oregon. I'm a stay at home mom, with a BS in social science. Someday I'd like to get a Masters in social work.

Hi T-bone. I'm Marc.

I am Big K's husband and only stumbled onto your site becaue you posted on hers. I recognized your name since she was telling me about your son moving into a "big boy" bed the same day ours did.

Thought I'd post and add some testosterone to all the female posts here.

I'm at work in SoCal, anxously waiting for a photo print I urgently need to finish running. De-stressing while it prints.

Cassie-b here in Southeastern Pennsylvania. I've moved around a lot, but plan to stay here forever. I work for a major pharmaceutical company, and actually love my work. I'm not in a lab, I push papers and publications. I think that's enough - maybe too much.

Have a great evening
Oh, and I read your post almost every day. And like it!

My name is Ozone Ferd and I live in a northeast suburb of Dallas. Lately the drive to work has made me question my need to live where I do. Traffic in this city is becoming unbearable.

I have a wife and 3 boys. I like music, long walks on the beach and pina coladas. Not really. When i grow up I wanna be a rock star.

Wassup with the meat motif?

My name is vadergrrrl and I live in Bremerton, Washington. I was born here, and escaped this place at a young age. I have lived in California, Okinawa and Virginia. Soon, I will be moving to Colorado.

Bremerton is okay, very beautiful, lots of trees and mountains, but I'm ready to pull a Free-Bird again.

thats just me.
xxxoooo

My name is Sassy Little Punkin, and, while, yes, people call me "Sass" or "Sassy" or "Punkin", it's not my real name. I live in a neighborhood known as No Ho Arts, California. I know, I know, you're thinking, "No Ho? But how is it YOU live there, Sassy Little Ho?" but it's actually short for No(rth) Ho(llywood). This morning it rained for five minutes and I went out on my balcony in my bathrobe with my hair wrapped in a towel and I applauded Mother Nature. My goal is to be able to afford groceries. Hey, T-Bone... aw, heck, I don't have a question...

Hey T-Bone!! My name is mouse and I'm from South Dakota. I'm originally from NYC. I was in the military that's how I got out here. I'm a bartender now at a resturant chain called Boston's. I'm married with 5 beautiful children. I love the New York Giants and the NY Yankees. That should trigger a lot of comments. :)

Hi, T-Bone, I am Lorie in Lewisville, TX. I drop by every couple of days to see what is new with you and yours. I'm 37 and I have 4 kids (3 boys, 1 girl), the last of which just started Kindergarten and now I am alone all day (a whopping six hours). It's time to look for a job, so that's what I am doing, but no one wants to hire someone from only 9-2, but I'm not giving up. Life is busy, but good and all my needs are met, so I can't complain :). I also have a ginger colored dog, appropriately named "Ginger", that I rescued from the Humane Society and whom I adore, but my husband doesn't. Too bad. Keep writing, you're so good at it!

I'm Sheilah, I live in Portland, OR...although I'm originally from central IL. I moved out here 3 years ago for my husbands job. I spent the first 2 1/2 years hating life and being homesick and depressed. But, over the past 6 months I've managed to pull myself out of it and realize how lucky I really am. And I'm starting to like OR a lot more as well. Whether I'll live here forever or not....I don't know. But, I'm going to definitely start allowing myself to be happy while I am here :)

My name is teahouseblossom, and I live in an apartment on the East Side of Manhattan. I practice law here in a bigfirm (> 300 lawyers). My goal is to be able to buy an apartment in this ovepriced city.

Oh, and tomorrow is my birthday!!

Hi T-Bone!

My name is Hockey and well, I like hockey. And NASCAR. I live in the burbs of Detroit. I like the south alot better as I am originally from Tennessee. I'm 36 years old, divorced, co-habitating and have two kids. A daughter that is 17 and a son that is 10. We have a cat who doesn't like anyone one but my boyfriend. And he hates cats. Go figure.

this is fun. i'm paula, i live in new jersey, but only recently, because i got a great new job here. before that i was living in illinois. it's tough to do a big cross-country move like that but it worked for me.

and i live in an apartment that costs $935 a month, so i really want to save for a house. or marry a rich guy!

My name is Tigger and I live in the Houston area. It is hot here. Why won't your comment box remember my personal info? Did I offend it?

my name is kasey, though that is not my real name. i live in BEND, OREGON and LOVE IT. It's better than living in NEBRASKA where i lived for 29 years. I like living in a smaller town with the mountains and desert at my recreational disposal. the weather is always perfect and i never need A/C. tbone, when you having another kid?

You can call me d; I live in Singapore (NOT in China!) and am currently an undergraduate in one of the 3 (!) universities in this country. Singapore is my home: I was born here and have lived here for 17 of my 20 years. It's safe and modern and clean, which I'm grateful for everyday, but I dream of one day living in the suburbs/country in the UK.

Hi, T-bone, I'm emil (=ml=mary lee, just so no one is any more gender confused than they are already) and I live in Kirksville, Missouri, a college town about three times larger than the hamlet I grew up in but many times smaller than Houston or Philadelphia where I've also lived. I love Kirksville and it's been a great place to raise our son, 23, and daughter, 19, but I liked Houston and Philly too. My immediate plans are to figure out what happened to all the free time I am supposed to have when the nest is empty.

Yo T!
I'm El, I live in a NW suburb of Chgo. I'm from here, but have lived in Orlando for a yr, Tulsa for 6 yrs and Dallas for 2. I'm glad to be back here, although never thought I'd move back. Love Chicago, although the winters are rough. But it makes people out-of-their-minds-giddy when spring/summer get here. Midwest people are the BEST. :) Not married, no kids, no pets -- live a basically unencumbered life, but wouldn't mind being cumbered. Just haven't found the right guy yet -- or maybe I have but wasn't ready? It's all about the timing...

Hi, my name is ecisgod and I'm an alcoholic. Oh, wait... wrong "meeting". I live in Omaha, NE and despite what "kasey" says, it's not that bad. I've lived here for 7 1/2 years. It's much better than Sioux City, IA (where I lived previously). I just bought a house in May and will be keeping myself busy this fall making the decor less "girly". I am an accountant (currently VERY underemployed as a bookkeeper). Anyone out there need a good bean counter? I am not married (never been), no pets, and am currently between relationships. I'm sure I could Ramble On (thanks Zep), but think I've said enough.

Hi, Jenny here. I'm from southeastern Massachusetts. It's a small town with two stop lights and alot of ponds. I truly love living here. We have some land up in Maine we frequently trek to also.

I've lived in Alaska for two years, Connecticut for fourteen, New Hampshire for two, Texas for one (Las Colinas, outside of Irving) and now Massachusetts for fifteen going on forever.

Hey T-I'm Arianne married mom of two living in Pasadena, CA. My loathe of traffic is starting to overtake my fondness for this Los Angeles metro area. Unfortunately (or fortunately??) our complete and utter devotion to living near the ocean keeps us from moving somewhere like Kansas or Oklahoma where we could actually drive somewhere in less than 30 min and maybe even buy a house (I know! crazy thinkin!).

Hey T,

I'm SJ, currently live in Kingwood, TX and will be moving to The Woodlands come December. Just moved here from Durham, NC. As for where I'd like to live? Still going to stay with Boulder, Co where I'd be a professional novelist and have a nice pretty house with a nice pretty view.

My name is Jayne and I live in Spokane, WA. It's a beautiful place we recently moved to and I'm looking forward to some actual snow for winter. I don't comment enough, anywhere, really, and should probably speak up more.

LX here; but soon to be gone. "Here" is South FL, but I'm bailing in exactly one week. I'll be trailing Hurricane Ivan up to Cary, NC with two cats, assorted pillows, a crateful of important documents, a small TV, and a computer monitor. I am married and have a 7 week old girl; born about the same time as SJ's Ellie. They're already waiting for me in the new house.
I'm tying up all the ends.

I'm a writer with published stuff in small-time indy mags, finishing up my novel "Resident Alien" (about an immigrant Romanian family in America during 1980-82). It'll probably never see the light of day, but it's the only thing that keeps me going; writing that is. And yes, also my baby girl.

If anyone's interested, I write frequently at: http://aufauf.blogspot.com

Hi, T-Bone! I'm Katie from NYC (and I loooove NYC.)I run a dog walking service, which is good since I like most dogs and hate most people. I'm also a mom to an 8 year old boy who is superfantastique, so I'm kind of a sucker for the Cutlet stories ('specially since mine's kind of grown up into a chop, or even a patty...)

Hello! I'm Melissa. This is my first visit to your blog--found your link on SJ's site. I live in northeastern Ohio with my husband, who is from Hungary. Having a husband with a cool foreign accent makes living in Ohio a lot more interesting.

you know me. im K. ive been here time and again through the last year or so. I live in west TX and want to move to the panhandle. I am a realtor but really would love to be a writer and live somewhere like itally or great brittan - even canada. i love writing, music, movies, working out, my family and i love my bf and just want us to be happy together. what made you decide petite filet was the one, and what made you decide to make a commitment?

In order to live in Italy and Great Britain, you must be able to spell them correctly.

Hiya T-Bone! I'm lawbyrd, I live in a teeny, tiny town outside of Abilene, Texas. I LOVE where I live! We just closed on our first home a week ago. Everyday, driving home from town, I find that as soon as I turn onto the farm road that turns onto the dirt road that leads to our home, I have a smile on my face and the stress melts away! I am island transplant (i.e., 50th state), but plan on staying here forever. DH and I have two little boys, age 3 and 5, and have another little one on the way (apple-seed tiny, right now!). I've been reading your blog for a while now, think I found you by way of Busy Mom. I spent my non-working time with my boys (including DH), my two naughty dogs, and taking taekwondo classes. My primary goal is to get through the next several months and be as healthy as I can be, work on getting ready for a lawn next spring, put up a fence, lay a path, and try to keep up with TKD!
