Ever have one of those days?

Have you ever had TWO of those days in a row? I'm living that right now. Maybe I'll elaborate later. Let's just say that you can't make lemonade if all you're handed is crap.

Because I'm often accused of being Captain of the Bright Side, I'll attempt to entertain you with monkey-like dancing around said crap with terribly written (and boringly bawdy) "poetry" of woe, some of the pieces based on popular songs from the 1970s and/or nursery rhymes:

• Margaritas are nice. Especially when you get to the Mexican restaurant at the end of Happy Hour, but your waitress still enters your drink at the cheaper price. If I wasn't such a cheap date, I would've had two. Fuzzy Wuzzy was a bear, Fuzzy Wuzzy was fuzzy cuz he drank too much.

Beans, beans, good for your heart. If you eat too many, you'll blow your pants apart. I ate the rice, too. Buckle my shoe! Take that, Dr. Atkins!

• The Cutlet went to a swimming lesson today and apparently loved it. He enjoyed his first yard sprinkler on Memorial Day with his older cousin. He's hilarious. Tinkle, tinkle little guy. I just changed your diaper, now I want to cry.

• We've had some storms at night (and during the day inside my office – eek!). I even pulled both of our vehicles into our garage last night. The evening before, we had 60 mph wind, tree limbs blowing everywhere and our garage flooded to the tune of 60 gallons of water (I measured it by the number of times I had to empty my wet/dry vac). Raindrops keep falling on my head. Whose lawn chair is that, why not ask my neighbor Ned. He lives down the lane, oh! Raindrops keep falling on my head, now honey, and cause me pain!

• It's hot here. I have decided that air conditioning is a nice thing to have, and I wish the air in my truck worked. Maybe we'll have it looked at tomorrow. The storm tripped the breaker that runs our home A/C – for a bit we thought the storm had zapped the entire thing. Hot blooded, check it and see. I started sweatin' when I got up to pee. (Alternately: After midnight, I had to let it all hang out. After midnight, it's hot in here without a doubt.)

Now it's time for me to disappear ... a la peanut-butter sandwiches! (If anyone guesses where that phrase comes from, sorry you've been exposed to as much of that as I have).

May your Friday and following weekend be grand, and may all your Christmases be white.

A la peanut butter sandwiches! I'd almost forgotten about that (since I heard it yesterday...)

Life definitely doesn't hand out lemons. When it's rough it's like the monkeys at the zoo tossing pooh.

ha! Sesame Street! hadn't thought about that for a while. loved your rhymes. hope the next two days go better.
