Blur

Note to spammers: Have you stopped trying? Putting things like "tattoo dietician" and "enamel" in the subject lines do not make me want to open your spam e-mails. Not that I would anyway. Unless I know you, or you ask ME something specific in the subject line (either with my real name or T-Bone), you're trash is trashed. Please drive through.

What a beleaguring week last week was, if ever such a week was! It seems like a blur now, but wasn't even approaching blur status whilst I was living through it. Here's some of the lowlights:

• Hired a new reporter.
• Fired another reporter. (These first two were not intentionally related, but became that way quickly).
• The Petite Filet's grandfather learned he has prostate cancer.
• Her parents' dog is on her last legs.
• My grandfather is now in an assisted-living home (mentioned earlier).
• Armstrong Floor Co. has discontinued the flooring we put in our closet. This is bad because our plan calls for installing the same floor in the adjoining bathroom.

Because this is the Texas T-Bone blog, there is always a bright side:
• Hired a new reporter.
• Fired another reporer.
• The cancer may not be so bad; more tests to follow.
• That dog has lived a fun, full life – loved all the way.
• Now he can't be bothered by my grandmother (also mentioned earlier).
• I'm not giving up: that floor will be mine.

There's more good stuff:
• Got the air conditioning in my truck fixed, albeit to the tune of ... well, let's say it's not a tune I enjoy humming.
• It has rained so much lately that everything is lush and green (and wet). That is very unTexaslike in June, and something you won't find me complaining about.
• Me and the Filet are playing softball in an adult rec league. She actually organized the team, which comprises members of our church. Lord, lead us into green pastures and let us not lose every game!
• The Cutlet is growing like a weed (helped by the rain), and is as cute as ever. Remind me to post a picture.
• I bought new running shoes! It was a past-due purchase, by about 2 or 3 months. Mine need replacing about every six months. New Balance, baby!
• The Filet also got some new shoes. Thank you, Oshmann's buy one-get one half off sale!
• My sister and her husband bought a house. It's cute.
• We're overall happy, healthy and doing fine. I hope this finds you doing the same.

This week has already been better! Viva la humdinger!

I am glad to hear that there have been more good things than bad. You have a gift of being able to find the silver lining. :)

Hey T - glad to hear your week is better.

It's tough though -- when there seems to be a lot of negative things going on at once. You're like a buoy though -- you may bob a bit, but you can't go under...
(I liken myself to a helium balloon -- can pull me down, but not for long... *grin*)

Congrats on the new running shoe purchase -- don't ya just love a new pair?
Keep us updated on the softball progress...

Your post brought a much-needed smile to my face, T-bone. It's always helpful to remind ourselves that there is a silver lining in every cloud.

New running shoes :) That was part of my bright side this week too, of course I went with asics. And you should post a new photo of the petit filet, That would brighten my day.

The reports we are getting here is that most of Texas has had rain for four straight days, with more to come. Maybe an arc should be in the projects list.

Have a good weekend! T-Bone all will be ok.
