Over the years, while working my various jobs, I've had an odd assortment of things that cross my desk. Some have found a permanent home among the large leaning piles of paper. Others are filed in the ol' "No. 6" drawer immediately. I was thinking about the variety of stuff on Tuesday when there were two packages of hot dog buns on it (see entry below).
A lot of offices allow, or even encourage, employees to make their workspaces their own. Some discourge that – and that's a shame. I think productivity increases when there are personalized trinkets on our desks – as long as they don't interfere with work.

4. Rolodex brimming with "important" numbers
5. Notebooks
6. An "in" box that is always brimming with press releases, resumes and assorted pieces of paper (P.S. why don't people mail me beer anymore?)
7. A little Lowe's Home Improvement truck that has some photo-instruction forms in the back
8. A Longaberger basket full of pens and pencils
9. A calculator
10. A ham sandwich
The best thing? I've got today and part of tomorrow to work, then I won't have to think about what's on my desk for a few days. Sweet bliss! Have a great one.

I need a bigger desk to house all my crap properly. That's not including my work, which of course is the biggest crap of all. Haha.
