It's hard not to think of Julie Andrews singing in The Sound of Music about things she likes when I hear "favorite things." Alternately, if you're in an elevator you may hear The Sound of Muzak. Just one of many reasons I prefer to take the stairs!
Anyhow, here's a list of a few of my favorite things ...
1. Not having to work on Mondays.
2. Rainy mornings, and staying together in bed just a little bit longer. Oh yes.
3. Hot chocolate and waffles.
4. Figuring the tax refund and actually getting money back.
5. Forgetting a deduction and getting even more money back.
6. Semi-moistened Teddy Grahams offered to me by my favorite little boy.
7. Not dreading my workday on Tuesday.
8. The smell of a freshly washed dog.
9. The pitter patter of little feet, and the endless trail of laughter left behind.
10. The first bite of a hot, fresh cheesey pizza. Also the last bite.
11. The last freeze of winter.
12. The first miniskirt of spring.
13. Paying "only" $1.54 per gallon of gasoline. Gulp.
14. Running through mud puddles.
15. The day after an election.
16. A house that feels loved.
17. Real, genuine warm hugs from old friends.
18. Real, genuine warm handshakes from new friends.
19. Not being ashamed to watch "Survivor: All Stars."
20. Telling a joke that everyone gets.
What are some of your favorite things?

Orange scented candles, sushi, the smell of new shoes, my fuzzy slippers, oysters with caviar, Monteverdi, my new computer, driving stick shift, cashmere gloves.
