I got the job.
You may be wondering, "What will you be doing, T-Bone?" Heck, you might even ask, "T-Bone, what exactly were you doing before?" Glad you might be asking that!
My current job is as advertising copy chief for the Texas office of a semi-large retail department store chain. I've had that job for 3 and 1/2 years. I wrote, designed and edited newspaper advertising and inserts to support our stores. I also supervised the writing department (2 whole people not counting me). I'll be turning in my two weeks' notice Wednesday because my boss won't be in tomorrow.
My new job will be as editor of a small weekly newspaper just up the road. It's a solid paper that has room to improve (don't they all). And apparently the publisher believes I'm the guy to do it. I think so, too. At least I'm excited about the opportunity to try.
The company I am leaving, with its office in north Fort Worth, has openings for a graphic designer, copywriter (or copy chief, I don't know which one they'll try to hire) and fashion photographer. If you are interested in applying, send me an e-mail and I'll give you the address.

Congrats!
Wow! Congratulations! They better let you blog there!
Congratulations! It sounds like something perfect for you.
SWEET! CONGRATS!!!!!

Congrats....but didn't you say a while back that you were glad not be a journalist anymore? What changed?
Good for you!
I had the biggest crush on the Editor of our High School newspaper.
That's so awesome...congratulations!
Congrats!!!
Go T-Bone, go T-Bone! Congratulations!!!
Thanks, guys!
Dahl – you're right in that I was so glad to not work at the large metro paper I used to. This will be a return to a small community paper, similar to my first job out of college, which was great.
That sounds so awesome! Good for you, congratulations!
at the risk of being repetitive--congratulations! i'm sure it will be nice to get out of the corporate thing. ah.... someday.
CONGRATS! It's so Brandon Walsh ("Beverly Hills 90210") of you! HOTTTT!
Echo on all the sentiments - way to go.
YEAH!

Fantastic! I've always thought it would be great to work for a small paper. Sounds like you are going to have a lot of room to grow. Congrats!
I am assuming the paper is locally owned? Personally, I always thought it would be a gas to write for the FW Weekly - the one that comes out on Thursday here in Cowtown. Kudos to you, Mr. Beef! Okay so where I do send my intellectually stimulating Letters to the Editor? Maybe I could be an unofficial Cowtown mystery reporter? What fun!
If anyone deserves a kick-ass job, that person is you, mister. Let the editing revolution in Texas begin!
it sounds like an awesome position! congrats, congrats!
THATTA BOY!
He shoots. He scores. :)
Congratulations!!! I was hoping you were about to replace David Lieber. :)
Have a Happy Thanksgiving..

Big time congrats, T-dawg!
I'm going to rub my face against your blog with the hopes that something as good as this finds it's way to me (if that's ok with you of course)
Good luck!
