Happy Wednesday, people!

Below is a fictional short story I posted late yesterday. If you're not in the mood to read it, why not turn your mind toward food and ponder your favorite eats. Then, if you haven't yet, contribute a favorite recipe to my Dinner Project/Contest. Deadline is next Monday!

Question(s) of the day: What's the last song you sang? Where were you when you belted out that tune?

[image is of Jerry Fisher, former lead singer in Blood, Sweat & Tears. He and his wife apparently run a restaurant in Mississippi now. While there are a few B,S&T songs I find enjoyable, I uploaded the photo because it made me laugh.]

Father Abarham and I was in the parking lot with five little kiddies waiting for the car to pull up to pick us up.

I sang "Our House" by Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young. I hummed it to myself. I think I must hum that song to myself 5 or 6 times a day!

The Copa Cabana :)

This morning while getting dressed Dylan and I did a little duet ditty of Marvin Gaye's "Let's Get It On," followed soon after by a rousing rendition of "Mama's Little Baby Loves Shortnin' Shortnin'," sung while bouncing the cat gently just the way she likes it.

Goodbye to You by Michelle Branch - bopping to my CD-man while walking on my way to work.

I didn't throw in my two cents' in this post, but my life is filled with music whether in the car, at work, at home (singing silly made-up songs to the Cutlet, etc.).

I belted out Toby Keith's "I Love This Bar" because it was the last thing on the radio as I was driving to work. I listen to many types of music, but Country Music sounds best in a ol' pickup.

Mine was "Angel" by Aerosmith, at my grandmother's house (which I am housesitting right now). It's me and my hunny's song. ;o)

Well, being the Karaoke queen that I am, the last song I sang, was in public and I think it was Blink 182's Rock Show. I had to help these poor girls out because they didn't know the words. That was at Guadalaharry's on Saturday night.

I sang "Wide Open Spaces" by the Dixie Chicks while in my car, driving over the bay bridge.

ok, fish tacos by eelnahs ...

marinate your fish of choice ... mahi, mahi is my favorite in 1/2 tequila, red pepper flakes, 1/2 lemon juice for one hour ...

grill up on the george forman. when done flake the fish and mix with diced tomatoes. You choose your sides ... lettuce, salsa, sour cream, cheese ..

these are yummy.

Ok. This one's quick and easy, and I never eat anything yucky, so you know it must be delish.

Ginger-Glazed Pork Chops

4 pork loin chops, cut 3/4 inch thick
1/4 cup honey
2 tbsp soy sauce
2 tbsp sliced green onion (1)
1 tbsp grated gingerroot or 1/2 tsp ground ginger
2 tsp cornstarch (flour works too)
1 clove garlic, minced
Hot cooked rice (optional)

Trim fat from meat. Place chops on the unheated rack of a broiler pan. Broil 3 to 4 inches from heat for 8 to 10 minutes or till not pink remains and juices run clear, turning once. Transfer to a platter.

Meanwhile, for glaze, in a saucepan combine honey, soy sauce, green onion, ginger, cornstarch, and garlic. Cook and stir till thickened and bubbly. Cook and stir 2 minutes more. Spoon over chops. If desired, serve with rice. Makes 4 servings.

We also like to eat this with asparagus on the side, but then we like to eat everything with asparagus on the side. :)

Last song?

It was in my car and was either "Stay or Leave" by Dave Matthews (and Tim Reynolds)

Or the Ramones, "I Wanna Be Sedated"... I sang both on the way to work this morning...

Needed a rowdy song to drag my ass into work...

Poor Cubbies!!!

Oops -- forgot to comment on that craptastic photo. Very funny!

Remniscient of the Good ol' Robert Plant photo from the same era... faded blue jeans, with a worn spot in the ol' package *area* -- I guess from stress or something...

Similar pose, similar hair... think, "The Song Remains the Same"...

I sing pretty much non-stop. The last one I "sang" out loud, was Eminem's "Till I Collapse" in the car on the way to work this morning.

In front of other people (other than the wife and kids) I think it was "Brown Eyed Girl when my pub-singer friend at the Irish pub dragged me up on stage. He does that a lot.

last song.....let me see there's so many. OH, happy birthday to some guy at the bar last night who's name was appearantly "Jack"
