All's Fair in Love & Pizza

pizza

Yesterday I compared a yearning for more true friends with pepperoni pizza. Today, I’ll go a step further.

Here’s a list of things love and pizza have in common:

1. You can pick up both of them on almost any street corner.

2. Both are readily available (see No. 1), but there’s usually a quality issue

3. Both are sometimes cheesy, sometimes saucy, sometimes crusty.

4. They can make your mouth water.

5. Too much of either can affect your heart. And your lips.

6. There’s no substitute when you want either one.

7. Both go well with a cold beverage. However, you may not care as much about what kind it is if you’ve consumed too many “adult” beverages.

8. Both can cause indigestion.

9. You learn to appreciate both more as you get older.

10. Each person has a preference about what kind they like.

11. Both are best shared with someone else.

12. Some people go to Italy to find it.

13. It’s better hot, but it’s not so bad cold, either.

14. Both can make you feel full.

15. Both can make you hunger for more.

16. Nothing else smells quite like either one.

17. Both can be messy.

18. It’s hard to go through life without either one for long stretches of time.

19. There’s no mistaking either one for what it truly is, if only in hindsight.

20. You always remember your first one.

If some of these sound like comparisons between sex and pizza, it is unintentional. Mostly.

Anybody up for a slice?

I'm so glad I found you! I guess I had the link wrong on my blog and everytime I click on it, I got "Server not found"....duh. For the longest time, I thought you were not blogging anymore! You've made my day!

Pizza. The culinary gift to mankind that says: "tastes good, and if you're in a pinch, looks like you kinda having a meal!"

But seriously, nothing beats (and Lord, forgive me) the Totino's $0.99 mini pepperoni pizas you can get. Man, I love those things.

Nice.

Once you start thinking about them, you have trouble concentrating.

Great list! Reading your blog is like pizza, it's satisfying, without leaving a burn on the roof of your mouth! ;0)

Hmmm...I can't remember my first pizza. But that picture made me hungry - at 10am. Thanks, T! ;)

Man oh man, T-bone, you're killing me here. Lately, every time I read your blog I get horrible hunger pangs, and the urge to eat everything in sight...

But pizza is great! Another reason is because you can always compromise with it - if you're sharing one with someone who doesn't like the same things as you, can can each have your half the way you like it!

Nothing better than making homeade pizza with my wife!!! Our kitchen is small....we rarely cook together....but with pizza....everything is made easier!!! Pizza: bringing loved ones closer....one slice at a time!!!

Also, the slice that is at about 4 o'clock in your picture....extra pepperoni....a lil more tint of orange from the pepperoni grease which separates itself from the other slices....it's MINE!!!

God that looks good. Reading this at 10:45, too early too go to lunch. My stomach is going to be rumbling for the next half hour.

Mmmmmm...Pizza. I've never tasted love, so I can't comment on that.

Bwahahaha! Thanks for the laughs, T. Actually, I'm now craving a little of both (if you know what I mean)! Wink, wink...Nudge, nudge...Say no more...

You are wrong on no. 20. I can't for the life of me remember my first pizza.

Very nice!
#3 Crusty love? Yikes did you know my girlfriend from highschool too?

god i love pizza...

deep dish, Chicago style... extra cheese... real pepperoni...

mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm...........

serve me up some!

Brilliant.

Where is my slice??? I'll bring the beer you bring the pizza and we'll meet underneath the water tower *big grin*

Oh, I've tasted love. And I've tasted pizza. As far as I'm concerned, there's no such thing as too cheesy...

I truly hope that I'm more important to my husband than a pizza.....but I bet it's a close call.

The philosphy of T-Bone. I love it. I think I am gonna run down to the corner and get me some...
;)

So it's probably not appropriate to admit that I've had some pizza that was better than some of the sex I've had. Oh, did I say that?!?!

Damn, only YOU could make that kind of correlation so....

Well, so...

- Relevant
- Tangible
- Sensual

DAMN!

Only one slice!? No, I'm not that easily filled by sex err Pizza! ;-)

Well, personally speaking, I agree with the Doc. I need more than just one slice at night - gotta have multiple slices.

You want one slice with which you can take your time, savor every flavor of its delicious surface as you take in its aroma. Eat it slowly.

One slice to be an animal with, ravaging with a ferocity equal to the animal within.

You need one inbetween slice, one that you take your time with and enjoy the toppings then wrap up quick.

You also need one slice that takes time to prepare, lots of attention at the front end of the deal. You know, take your time with the paremsean and the crushed red pepper, real slow. Then you just dig in to.
