The Final Countdown!

Four hours from now (it's about 3:35 p.m. Texas Time as I type this), my family will touch down on the tarmac at Love Field inside their great brown/orange southbound Southwest bird. Here's the reunion by the numbers:

1
Happy T-Bone
Smiling/Tired Baby
Frazzled Petite Filet
Dollar it costs to park for more than 30 minutes at Love Field
House cleaned and ready for the family
Dog happy that her peeps will be together again

2
Pieces of heavy luggage I get to haul to the car unless I get to carry the Cutlet

3
It's a magic number!

4
Times I'll hug the PF before we get to the truck
Wheels on the truck going round and round
People who will flip me off on Loop 12 for driving the speed limit

5
Days they've been gone
Days that I've missed them
Days in a work week
Fingers on each hand
Toes on each foot
Rhymes with drive, strive, thrive and alive (and endive – that's a type of lettuce)

i've never seen a more perfect child....what a freaking cutie!!! those little curled toes....that little mouth in a downward grin....he is adorable...i would squeeze him till he popped!

The Cutlet is too freakin' adorable!

You're a lucky man, T-dog.

He is such a cutie!!!!!

Conversation with a toddler:

Jói, looking at the computer screen: 'That's me!'

Me: 'No, love, this is another little boy who lives all the way over in America.'

Jói: 'Where does he live?'

Me: 'In a place called Texas!'

Jói: 'Yeah, and he also lives in America.'

Me: 'Ye-es...'

Jói: 'Where do we live?'

Me: 'We live in Iceland.'

Jói: 'Yes, we live in Iceland. We don't live in America.'

In two years time you will be having exactly that sort of conversation with the Cutlet :)
