Irregardless of how one feels about the immigration debate (I have mixed feelings; there is no one-size-fits-all solution), but here in one of the front lines of the debate, Phoenicians did themselves proud.
Phoenix had a large turnout of 125,000 people, the largest march we've ever had (even larger than the ones during the Evan Mechan/MLK Day years), and in spite of this being hot button issue here, and with the exception of traffic congestion, the event came off peacefully and well organized.

Welcome to the big time Phoenix! :D

You can be proud. No matter what your position on the issue, it's wonderful to see regular people caring about something. Enough to take a stand.
Now I'm hearing that folks that attended the rally got fired.
Not good.
Thanks for the pic, J
I agree, and you're welcome Nina.
What really amazed and pleased me about this coming off as peacefully as it did was due to this being such an issue here, I was concerned that all it would take would be a couple of extremeist morons (from either side) to turn the Capitol corridor here into a mess.
Remember this is the state where we had militias camped down along the border, Timothy McVeigh, and the FCLDS up along the Arizona strip.
