Well, what do you think? I was looking for a background that would allow me to post pictures without the underlying graphic showing through. I think this'll do it. Now, I have to remember how to post those pictures again!
I've been thinking about topics to post about. Our impending snow storm just may be the opportunity to do that. (Teachers LOVE snow days!!) I do have some grading that will need my attention and I just started Barak Obama's book The Audacity of Hope, so there's competition for my bloggin time. I figure if I get to the computer first thing in the morning, I'll beat my teenagers to it and I'll grind a few thoughts out.
What are YOU reading these days??

I have two that I've picked up recently that I haven't opened yet: "Palestine Peace Not Appartheid" by Jimmy Carter and "The Historian" by Elizabeth Kostova. I've been reading bits and pieces of Jinny Beyer's "Quilting by Hand," and two Thimbleberries quilt books. I also have a "Real Simple" magazine waiting to be opened, and a "Cook's Illustrated," and "Cuisine at Home" to read.
Elegante Mother subscribes to Rachel Ray's magazine, and we found a pretty good recipe for a lighter Chicken a la King. It has loads of veggies, and a very light sauce (that we all agreed needed to be thickened). It calls for fresh tarragon, but DH nixed the herb for the next time around. It's supposed to be a thirty-minute meal, I think, but you'd need help in the kitchen cutting the veggies to pull that off.
It's SNOOOOOOOWWWWWWINNNNGGGG..and VERY WINDYYYYYYY here, can't you tell? How many inches of snow are you expecting there? We're hoping that we luck out and get five or less.
It's SNOOOOOOWWWWINNNNGG and WINDYYYYY here, too! Even youngest child doesn't want to go out in it today! You have an interesting array of reading on your list. I think it's ironic that you have a choice on politics alongside your quilting and cooking. Mixing diplomacy with culinary skills, are we? Oh yeah, that'd be everyday, right!!
I like the new background! I do have difficulty seeing the comments link, but since I know to look for it can find it.
