feeling old?

I'm sure we've all seen these in one form or another, but I've always enjoyed reading them, so if it bores you just move along :biggrin

Just in case you weren't feeling too old today, this will certainly change things. Each year the staff at Beloit College in Wisconsin puts together a list to try to give the faculty a sense of the mind set of this year's incoming freshmen.

Here's this year's list:

The people who are starting college this fall across the nation were born in 1983.
They are too young to remember the space shuttle blowing up.
Their lifetime has always included AIDS.
Bottle caps have always been screw off and plastic!
The CD was introduced the year they were born.
They have always had an answering machine.
They have always had cable.
They cannot fathom not having a remote control.
Jay Leno has always been on the Tonight Show.
Popcorn has always been cooked in the microwave.
They never took a swim and thought about Jaws.
They can't imagine what hard contact lenses are.
They don't know who Mork was or where he was from.
They never heard: "Where's the Beef?", "I'd walk a mile for a Camel", or "de plane Boss, de plane".
They do not care who shot J. R. and have no idea who J.R. even is.
Michael Jackson has always been white.
McDonald's never came in Styrofoam containers. They don't have a clue how to use a typewriter.

Do you feel old yet? :sad

OK OK... I get it. I am WAY old. Gee thanks T!!

What a great fun way to put things into perspective. I am obviously old too :)

Hey, I knew I was right! I've always suspected that Michael Jackson was white... :-)

Gawd... I graduated High School in 1983.

OMG I miss that old woman screaming "Where's the Beef" and how many women screamed that on a night of passion and OOPPPSSSS "WHERE'S THE BEEF"? LOL

Just a thought!!!

I'm not old, the people you're talking about are just very very young.

Yeah! I'm with Nico, they're just very very young! :) Thanks for posting it--what fun!

Old? I feel positively ancient after reading that list! I'm going to try and keep Nico's perspective in mind :)

nanu nanu! ;-)

I was working at a record store when a sales rep came in and told the owner that soon everyone would be buying cd's and no one buying albums. We all smiled politely, then when he left we laughed at the idea.
