Blogging

Has blogging become a thing of the past? I made an entry yesterday and then started scrolling through my list of links to bloggers, and was astounded to find that most of them have decided not to blog, or are on hiatus while they consider quitting!
In truth, I haven’t given my all to blogging for some time. I was rarely here the last few years of my mother’s life, and I didn’t return to it immediately after she passed away, but I had always assumed that all of my favorite bloggers had kept the flame.
I wonder if I need to make it a goal to get others to resume blogging. Or, is the rest of the world addicted to Twitter and Facebook and MySpace and GooglePlus?
I frequently feel out of step with the world. I’m so glad that doesn’t bug me any more! *G*

  1. I would love to do this again, but can’t seem to find enough “me” time. It is the reason that the half dozen books in my head are not written. Keep writing – I’m reading!!

  2. The heck of it is, we all think we will have so much time when we retire, but our lives are just as overfilled with “gotta do” lists as they were when we worked full time. I used to find that vacation time was the same. I think that if you want to do something, you have to schedule it. Tell your family that you will be writing for two hours each day, and that you will need to be uninterrupted. Claim a spot and go for it!

  3. I have a facebook page, just so I can (nominally) keep up with a few friends that travel all the time. I don’t actually post to it though. Heck, I don’t even check the email to it – just chck every once in a while on the friend’s page.
Blogging is where it is at for me.

  4. Bogie, I’ve done about the same. I have a handful of friends on Facebook, but it really serves to keep up with the younger generations of my family. I find that due to the space constraints, nothing much of value is said, but the pictures are great, especially of the new babies. I don’t have to wait weeks to see them.
I like blogging because I can ramble. That may not be such a good thing, but I suits me.
